Every business started with an origin and Branje Metal Works roots originate from Europe. John Branje's father
Gerry, was a Blacksmith in Holland. In 1952, Gerry moved to the Almonte area.
John learned many of his skills by watching his father. He started his career
working in other trades, but always found the time to work with metal at night and
weekends. The demand for his products kept growing as his reputation for quality
craftsmanship spread. In 2000, John decided to go full time in the business and
hasn't looked back.
Many of the first projects were Custom Railings,but it wasn't long before
customers started asking for other Custom Metal Work. Soon Branje Metal Works
was fabricating such things as bleachers, soccer nets, table frames, gates,
pedestrian bridges,and even bases for Custom Trophys. Many of the products
were started with only a thumb nail sketch on a napkin.
Today Branje Metal Works has a steady stream of customers, who want quality
craftsmanship and one of a kind products that will last for many generations. Whether you need Custom Metal Work
made with Steel, Stainless Steel, or Aluminum, Branje Metal Works can probably manufacture it.

Last year, Terry Kell from Kanatek Technologies had an idea. A team of Canadian climbers were heading to climb
Mount Everest and wanted to do something unique. They were going to play the first ever game of Hockey on
the Mountain Glacier.Terry came to Branje Metal Works and asked John to design and build lightweight and foldable
hockey nets.
The design worked, and in April, the first ever game of hockey
was played on a glacier high atop Mount Everest. Team Canada
wearing replicated sweaters from the 72 Canada Russia series
beat Team International 24 to 18 This was a true Summit Series.
The hockey nets are now at an orphanage in Nepal. John's
design and ingenuity will be enjoyed for years 1000s of miles
away.
